BIOHELLAS operates with integrity and credibility in the field of organic products certification providing reliable services aiming to the protection of the consumer and the environment as well as to the improvement of foods and other agricultural products’ quality.

It controls and certifies food companies that cover the whole chain of production, from animal farms to food retailers and export industries and it has more than 9.000 customers. It employs more than 100 specialized scientists for the execution of inspections and the research/support regarding organic agriculture. BIOHELLAS is engaged in the research for the Development of Inspection and Certification Systems in the Balkans.

Inspection Institute for Organic Products “BIOHELLAS” was founded in 2001 and is approved by the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food as Inspection and Certification body for organic products (European Union code GR-BIO-03).

Since 2002 it is accredited by the National Accreditation System (ESYD) under the terms of the ELOT EN ISO/IEC 17065:2012 Standard as an Inspection Body able to certify organic products.

BIOHELLAS is an approved Body for Inspection and Certification of Organic Products by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry of the Republic of Bulgaria with the code BG - BIO -10.

 

BIOHELLAS is a member of HellasCert.

According to the Organic Certification Directory 2008 (a special edition of the Organic Standard) BIOHELLAS is among the top ten of Inspection and Certification Bodies worldwide.
