FSBI "Land of the Leopard"
The Land of the Leopard Federal State Budgetary Institution is the joint directorate of the Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve and the Land of the Leopard National Park named after N.N. Vorontsov. The institution was established on May 21, 2012.

 

About the institution
Under the leadership of the Land of the Leopard Federal State Budgetary Institution, there are specially protected natural areas (SPNA) of Primorsky Krai: the state natural biosphere reserve "Kedrovaya Pad" and the national park "Land of the Leopard" .

Two specially protected natural areas are united not only by their location, but also by their tasks, the main of which is the preservation and restoration of the world's only population of the Far Eastern leopard - the world's rarest large cat.

"Land of the Leopard" is rightfully considered the "most feline" specially protected natural area in Russia. After all, four species of wild cats live here at once - the Far Eastern leopard, the Amur tiger, the common lynx and the Far Eastern forest cat. All, except for the lynx, are Red Book.

The Leopard Land is home to the largest photomonitoring network in Russia. The welfare of wild animals is monitored by 400 camera traps, evenly distributed throughout the national park.

The nature of Land of the Leopard is a contrasting combination of boreal and subtropical species of animals and plants. Coexisting harmoniously, they form integral natural complexes with unparalleled landscapes and unique biodiversity, making the territory an ideal place for ecological tourism.

In 2018, by order of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, the Land of the Leopard Federal State Budgetary Institution was named after the outstanding scientist and politician Nikolai Nikolaevich Vorontsov. The institution also carries out operational management of the Ussuriysk and Far Eastern marine reserves.

The institution is managed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.
